  • 10+ years of experience in designing and building data assets for batch and event driven Data Warehouses, Operational Data Stores, and BI&A. Well versed with industry standard Kimball and Inmon practices

  • Expertise in creating ER (Entity Relationship), Logical, Physical, and Conceptual data models for an enterprise. At least 10+ years of hands on experience with Data Modeling tool in Power Designer etc. and well versed in designing universes for reports / dashboards in tools such as Tableau, Cognos etc. Data Modeling experience in Financial industry is highly preferred.

  • Batch / Event design, modeling, data warehousing and data sharing experience in Cloud based technology such as Snowflake on MS Azure or AWS.

  • Drive reuse of data and data models at all levels and establish standards to enforce and preserve single version of truth across the data landscape

  • Strong data analysis / profiling skills on large data sets with complex VSAM files / Cobol copybook structures on IBM mainframe

  • Big data development, design, and architecture for distributed and scalable file system such as HDFS. Strong experience in HWs / Cloudera Hadoop environment with expert development skills in HIVE and Impala

  • Expert development, analysis, and design skills in database technologies such as DB2, Snowflake, Oracle, and Cassandra.

  • DB/Query performance tuning experience in RDBMS such as DB2 and Snowflake. Exposure to Yugabyte is a plus.

  • Event streaming experience with MQ and / or Kafka and integration with cloud database such as Snowflake

  • Experience in data stewardship and building/ maintaining an evergreen Data Catalogue for an enterprise that's easily searchable, visually appealing, houses robust metadata, and shows end to end lineage at an attribute level. Experience with Alation is a plus

  • Experience in Data Taxonomy, Classification, Governance, and Security to ensure firm's data is defined, classified, traceable, and protected at rest and in motion

  • Experience in business architecture frameworks such as BIAN and IBM Banking Industry Model is highly desirable

  • Exposure to Master and Reference Data Management in core domains such as Customer, Product, Payer, Supplier etc.

  • Experience working in agile methodology and facilitating / leading sessions with partners including Business, IT (engineers and developers), BI (Business Intelligence), System of Record (SOR) SMEs etc. to assess business requirements and deliver design prototypes and models

  • Experience in development and implementation of Data Quality and Integrity standards in all phases of Data Lifecycle - ingestion, transformation, provisioning, discovery etc.


  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills - able to break down complex information and articulate in a manner that's easy to understand

  • Candidate must be able to convey their ideas to others via PowerPoint, Excel, etc. They must also be comfortable speaking in front of large teams, incorporating their ideas, and building consensus.

  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, highly complex, matrixed environment and capable of handling multiple tasks concurrently

  • Be able to understand current data landscape, interpret results of analysis, identify trends and issues, and develop data standards to support business objectives

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem-solving techniques for data solutions in a large and complex environment

  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to work with partners to meet business SLAs and plan and deliver work to expectations

  • Functional knowledge of the Financial Services industry with experience promoting a robust risk & control environment is preferred

  • Be able to coach, train, and mentor junior staff
