The client, BeneLynk, serves Medicare Advantage (MA) Organizations by identifying and engaging their veteran members, ensuring systematic communication, and providing important healthcare information back to the Medicare team.


The client previously used manual reporting on multiple sources, including an on-premise SQL Database, Azure SQL Database, Azure Table Storage and Cosmos DB. Some issues the client faced included the inability to get a comprehensive view of data (since most of the data was siloed) and lack of proper security models during data movements when generating reports.


The client asked our team to build a centralized data repository that would enable management reporting more efficiently and time effectively. After proposing an Azure Data Warehouse (since most of the client’s data sources were in the cloud), the Orion team built pipelines using ADF to migrate data from different sources to the central warehouse. We also used an Azure Analysis service-based tabular model so the client could retrieve information using Power BI tools.


The solution helped the client minimize data silos. Since the data can be loaded incrementally, users can get real-time insights to make better business decisions. The warehouse also allows for historical data analysis, enables Azure Active Directory Services to identify and authenticate users and relies on role-based security.
