Orion has joined Automotive Grade Linux (AGL), an open source project for connected car technologies.

AGL brings together automakers, suppliers and technology companies in order to accelerate and adopt an open, shared software platform for automobiles, including infotainment and autonomous driving. Relying on one single platform across the automotive industry reduces fragmentation and accelerates time to market by encouraging the growth of a global ecosystem so that digital providers can design and repurpose products for different automakers.

Dmitry Oshmarin, CTO of Orion’s Digital Product Development Division, states, “As experts in embedded software development, especially in the Linux environments, we plan to contribute to Automotive Grade Linux. At the same time, we will leverage this new experience to help our customers to benefit from using AGL in their products.”
