18 Years at Orion

“Since I was about six years old, I admired Sofia Kovalevskaya. Sofia paved the path for women in mathematics and engineering all around the world. She was the first woman to earn a doctorate in math. Her life path inspires me to be persistent and to put my heart and soul into what I really want regardless of all obstacles and criticisms.”

What do you love most about working at Orion?

What I love about Orion are the challenges that the company brings to me every year. Every challenge that I overcome makes me stronger and bestows upon me invaluable professional experience.

What advice would you give to other women in technology roles?

As leaders in the workplace, women often compete with male colleagues, so they need to have strong professional skills.

What do you love most about the technology industry?

The IT industry is my passion, which is why I embarked on my career as a Software Development Engineer. I firmly believe that the development of our civilization depends on how the tech industry can spur the world towards more reliable communications, global knowledge development, faster scientific achievements and diverse production optimizations.

What is the secret to your success?

I don’t think it’s a big secret, but I am in love with my work, and that’s why every day encourages me to be better.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve overcome?

My biggest challenge (and my biggest point of pride) is helping my team grow from 10 engineers in 2003 to a big subdivision of a prestigious global IT company in 2021.

Who are some of your female role models or women you look up to?

From when I was about 6 years old, I admired Sofia Kovalevskaya. Sofia paved the path for women in mathematics and engineering all around the world. She was the first woman to earn a doctorate in math. Her life path inspires me to be persistent and put my heart and soul into what I really want.
