Home / Perspectives / Echo: Liverpool ‘super excited’ after signing first of a kind deal to target global transformation The following is an excerpt from an article written by Dave Powell for liverpoolecho.com Liverpool have taken another step on their journey to raise both commercial revenues and the club’s brand globally by inking a deal for their first digital transformation partner. The Reds have agreed a multi-year deal with Emmy Award-winning American firm Orion Innovation, with the partnership to both benefit Liverpool commercially as well as allowing them to leverage the 30 years worth of experience the New Jersey-based firm has acquired. Orion, which works across a number of sectors and has partnered with Fortune 1000 companies to aid their digital plans, has worked on transforming the business operations of teams and leagues across sport UK, Europe, the US, and Asia Pacific, with previous clients including Major League Baseball, a league where Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group have the Boston Red Sox. Other previous clients include IBM, AT&T and Bank of America. With the Reds looking to maximise the potential of their global fan base, one of the biggest in all of sport, the hope is that by partnering with Orion they will be able to better connect with their supporters worldwide. Liverpool senior vice president for digital, Drew Crisp, who told the ECHO last year of some of the digital plans for the Reds in the future, said: “We’re super excited to be working together with Orion Innovation in the digital space, which is so important to us and our supporters.
