The client is a globally recognized Fortune 100 Sports and Fitness brand synonymous with the biggest sports and athletes around the world.
Challenge
The client was looking to reimagine the way its retail stores operated. They wanted to create mobile points of sale (POS), creating mobile sports advisors who can move around and complete transactions throughout the store.
Solution
Orion introduced a solution involving a pair of devices, a small POS terminal, and an IOS device either an iPhone, iPod Touch, or an iPad. This ability for mobile sales associates meant that the store employees had to have answers to various questions, so the devices had the capability to provide technical information about products as well as inventory in the current store as well as other stores in the area.
The POS platform was highly robust and flexible allowing connectivity to loyalty programs, promotions, and connection to the store’s central POS system updating inventory numbers in real time. The system also contained a compact mobile printer in case printed receipts were needed, but it could also email electronic receipts directly to customers.
Impact
Our solution allows sales associates and sports advisors to complete transactions wherever in the store. This capability enables the client to provide a greater customer experience and improved service efficiency with the remote POS system to complete transactions with out having to wait in lines and helped associates directly drive sales.
