Bala heads the Industry Solutions Group for Healthcare and Life Sciences (HLS) at Orion. Bala is responsible for understanding business challenges within HLS, envisioning, and delivering on appropriate solutions and services to further the digital transformation initiatives of HLS clients.
Prior to Orion, Bala was President and CEO of Cabeus, responsible for providing the company vision and strategy to be a niche products and services firm for Life Sciences. He was responsible for the vision and direction for a SaaS platform called ReALM® to transform the regulatory value chain within Life Sciences.
Bala brings over three decades of experience in information management and digital transformation. He is a winner of the Albert Einstein Award for Innovation in 2016 under the auspices of NJ Immigrant Entrepreneur Awards. Prior to forming Cabeus, Bala developed IT strategies and capabilities for companies such as Bristol-Myers Squibb, Roche, Aventis, Merrill Lynch, AT&T, Bell Atlantic, and IBM.
Bala is a recipient of the Service Excellence Award for 2023 by the Drug Information Association for his thought leadership and contributions to the Life Sciences industry. He heads TiE New Jersey’s Healthcare and Life Sciences Special Interest Group. He is also an Industrial Advisory Board Member for the Rutgers Master’s in Business and Science (MBS) program. He is also an Advisor for Stillman School of Business, Seton Hall University.
Bala has his Ph.D. and MBA from Rutgers University, M.S. in Computer Science from NJIT and B.S. in Electronics Engineering from India.
